| Commander/Director JumpStart Meeting A strong, effective and God glorifying Awana ministry starts with its leadership foundation - commanders and directors - and those they lead. The summer months are an opportune time for leadership to evaluate their 2009-2010 ministry year and prepare for the upcoming new one. This involves prayer, planning, communication, commitment and training. Regional Commander-Director JumpStart Meetings offer practical steps and valuable insights, updates, group open-forum, and ministry tools to assist and strengthen your leadership as they prepare for the upcoming Awana ministry year. (See calendar for dates and locations) These two-hour evening meetings will begin at 7 p.m. and are FREE to all participants. All participants must R.S.V.P. at least 5 days prior to their selected meeting date to Patti Stone at (318-484-2910) or David & Patti Stone - so materials and resources can be prepared and ready for distribution to attendees. |

Help Break the Cycle - We have heard from many volunteers at the Returning Hearts Celebration (RHC) at Angola, "I'd do this again next weekend!" Well this is your chance! On Saturday, June 26 there will be another Returning Hearts Celebration in Louisiana. The RHC event will be held at the Avoyelles Correctional Center in Cottonport, Louisiana. Cottonport is located about 65 miles north of Lafayette, LA.
You saw first hand the heartfelt reunions between inmate fathers and their children. You witnessed the power of inmate fathers saying, "I love you" and "I'm sorry". You will be able to experience these same moments at Avoyelles. This would be a great time to bring those from your church that didn't get the opportunity in May.
