Many Awana Commanders, families and individuals are often looking for meaningful projects for their Awana clubbers to work on during the year. Fund raising projects (PENNY DRIVES) in the past have helped your Awana missionaries purchase computers, office equipment, etc. We are switching the emphasis next year.
The Sipes' are always on the road as they visit with Pastors, Commanders and Awana leaders throughout Mississippi & West Tennessee, traveling up to 3,000 miles per month. With the continued rise in gas prices, these travel expenses (which come out of their regular support), put a real drain on the support ministry for Awana programs across the region.
In addition to becoming a regular supporter of their ministy, the regional Awana ministry would like to challenge area clubbers and leaders to join the 2007 Fuel for the Sipes' Project. If each church with Awana in the region were to hold a creative fundraising event on behalf of TJ & Ferrol Sipes, converting the funds raised into gas cards, it would help to pay for their fuel needs for the year!
Here are some fundraising ideas:
String-a-leader - Everyone votes for the Commander, Director or leader they want to "string up" with Silly String. Each 25 cents brought is worth one vote. The two with the most votes get covered with Silly String.
Club vs. Club - See which club can bring in the most money.
Boys vs. Girls or Clubbers vs. Leaders or Color Team vs. Color Team - Use the same ideas as above.
Pie in the Eye Night - Everyone votes for the Commander, Director or leader they want to see get a pie in the eye! The leader with the most votes gets the pie. Each 25 cents is worth one vote.
